SUNSARI: Police have seized an ambulance carrying four and a half quintals of marijuana from Tarahara in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-20, Sunsari.
A police team deployed from the Tarahara Police Post seized the marijuana from an ambulance (Ba 2 Cha 9573) in the Tarahara-Panipiya forest area along the East-West Koshi Highway last night, according to Chandra Bahadur Khadka, information officer at the District Police Office, Sunsari.
The marijuana was found concealed in plastic bags during a search of the ambulance, which bore the name ‘Triveni Cultural Group’, Khadka said.
The seized marijuana and the ambulance have been taken to the Area Police Office, Itahari, and kept there for further investigation. Police said a search is underway for the absconding ambulance driver.
