Kathmandu Valley records 1,535 fresh COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: As many as 1,535 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,225 persons in Kathmandu, 147 in Lalitpur, 163 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 158,089 as of Sunday afternoon after 2,856 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 12,311 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 3, 336 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 108, 334 in the country.

Nepal currently has 45,572 active cases.

Likewise, 3,064 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

Meanwhile, five people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 847, the Ministry confirmed.
