Home Minister Thapa reaches Chhangru to inaugurate APF building



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa alias Badal has reached Byas-1, Chhangru in Darchula district to inaugurate a barrack of the Armed Police Force.

After including Kalapani, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura encroached by India in the map of Nepal, the government has been strengthening the presence of security forces in Byas region lately.

Darchula’s lawmaker at the federal assembly Ganesh Singh Thagunna, Home Minister’s Political advisor Surya Subedi, Security Advisor Indraajit Rai, Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane, APF IGP Shailendra Khanal and Nepal Army’s Brigadier General Pawan Raj Ghimire are also included in the Home Minister’s team visiting Chhangru.

Formerly under 25 security personnel deployed in the command of Inspector, the 160 security personnel under the command of DSP Dhirendra Shah will look after the area now.

The APF building is being constructed at the cost of 100 million rupees.
