Journalist shot dead in UP



LUCKNOW: A journalist in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) was shot dead last night.

A journalist working with a Hindi news channel was shot dead in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, Indian media reports said.

The 45-year-old journalist, Ratan Singh, was working with a Hindi news channel was shot dead in Phephana. “We are investigating the case,” Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Yadav said.

A police officer said that the shooter was an associate of the victim adding that the journalist was killed after a fight with his associate turned violent.
