27 foreigners in Chitwan test negative for COVID-19

CHITWAN: Twenty-seven foreigners belonging to the Muslim community and suspected to have contracted the COVID-19 have been tested negative for COVID-19.

Chief district officer (CDO) of Chitwan Narayan Prasad Bhatta shared that the 27 foreigners-19 Indian nationals and 8 Pakistanis- who were residing in various mosques in the district for some time have come negative in the test conducted on them.

In addition, the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) and PCR tests were also conducted on those persons coming in contact with those foreigners, according to CDO Bhatta.

Although the suspected ones were tested negative in the COVID-19 test, they were currently kept in home quarantine.

“All the Muslim people coming to Nepal from abroad have been kept in home quarantine,” said the CDO, adding that they were safe and under surveillance of the security agency.
