US President Trump lands at Ahmedabad airport in India



KATHMANDU: American President Donald Trump has landed at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport in Ahmedabad at 11:4 am on Monday.

Trump is accompanied by first lady Melania, daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and top brass of his administration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the US President at the international airport.

Earlier, posting a Twitter message, Trump had tweeted in the Hindi language that he was on the way and was impatient to arrive in India. In a while, he would land at the airport.”

The leaders will then be participating in ‘Namaste Trump’ rally at the Motera Stadium.

Immediately after attending the rally, Trump will be flying to Agra so that he and First Lady Melania Trump can spend about an hour at the Taj Mahal before sunset.

The delegating is then scheduled to fly to Delhi, where Trump and PM Modi will hold talks on Tuesday.

Modi and Trump will hold talks on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues including trade and investment, defense and security, counter terrorism, energy security, religious freedom, a proposed peace deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan and the situation in the Indo-Pacific, according to the reports.
