Finance Committee discusses Insurance Bill

KATHMANDU: The parliamentary Finance Committee today continued to discuss the Insurance Bill which the government had registered in 2018.

The Committee on Monday discussed the issue with a team of experts.

Even though the Bill was presented in the parliament, the discussion had stopped following differences between Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada and Insurance Board Chairman Chiranjibi Chapagain.

The Bill proposes the formation of a new Insurance Authority in place of the Insurance Board, which will be dismissed once the Bill it passed.
