Govt to conduct sanitation audit at 10 major airports

KATHMANDU: The government is set to carry out a sanitation audit at 10 main airports of the country as part of the Visit Nepal, 2020.

The audit will take place on coming February 11, and an agreement in this regard had been reached acting on directions made following a discussion between Minister for Culture Yogesh Bhattarai and representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) recently.

The Ministry will conduct the audit in coordination with concerned agencies.

The airports where the audit would take place are Tribhuvan International Airport (both domestic and international), Biratnagar Airport, Chandragadhi Airport, Janakpur Airport, Simara Airport, Bharatpur Airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport, Pokhara International Airport, Nepalgunj Airport and Dhangadhi Airport, according to a statement released by the ministry.

As per the agreement, assigned volunteers are tasked with carrying out a field visit at the 10 airports, taking stock of airports’ situation and submitting the report to the ministry within one month (from March 3 to April 1).
