NCP will make its stance clear on MCC soon: Chair Dahal

NAWALPUR: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the party would soon come up with a concrete decision on the widely-debated Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

“The party will reach a conclusion on the issue by keeping the nation’s interest at the helm. We need to further brainstorm on the issue,” he said adding that the government should be prepared to hold further talks with the United States if necessary to clarify the issue.

Referring to the 10-point clarification issued by the Embassy of America in Kathmandu, Dahal said the MCC issue and the clarification would be thoroughly discussed at the party Secretariat.

Speaking at a program in Nawalpur on Friday, Dahal said people were not satisfied with the performance of the local level governments.

“Local governments have failed to deliver as per people’s expectations,” he said justifying his statement, “Therefore, I have been reiterating that the party should guide the government.”
