Nepal’s COVID-19 tally reaches 48



KATHMANDU: COVID-19 cases in Nepal have reached 48 on Thursday evening following the addition of a case.

According to Co-Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, coronavirus has been confirmed in a 26-year-old man from Bhojpur.

Earlier, Nepal had reported two new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours taking the total tally to 47.

Speaking at a press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Bikash Devkota shared that two new patients are a 55-year-old woman from Udayapur and a 14-year-old boy from Janakpur.

Their swab samples were tested at the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory.

A total of 10 people have been discharged across Nepal following successful treatment so far.

Speaking at the briefing, Spokesperson Devkota added that 9,199 samples have been tested through the Polymerase Chain Reaction method and 34,523 through Rapid Diagnostic Test so far.

A total of 86 people have been isolated, he informed.
