20 passengers injured in Tanahun bus accident



TANAHUN: Twenty passengers were injured in the accident that occurred at Byas Municipality-12 of Tanahu district along the Prithvi Highway this morning.

A bus heading to Dumre from Damauli, Na 7 Kha 206, collided with the next coming from the opposite direction, Na 5 Kha 2856, which resulted in the injury of 20 passengers from both buses combined, according to District Police Office.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Leela Raj Lamichhane, said three among the injured have been sent to Chitwan Medical College and one to Pokhara for the treatment, while the remaining at Ratnahari and Apollo hospitals in the district.

The bus heading to Damauli from Dumre lost its route with over speed and hit the bus in another direction.

Although the traffic was halted for some hours after the accident, it has been normalized now.
