Central Zoo to go digital

LALITPUR: The Central Zoo at Jawalakhel in Lalitpur is going digital within the current fiscal year.

This, authorities claim, will relieve visitors from standing in a long queue for hours to book tickets.

Visitors will be able to book tickets online from anywhere, said Dr Chiranjibi Prasad Pokharel, chief of the zoo administration.

Currently, the central zoo has five employees at the ticket booking counters. Meanwhile, the number of people visiting the zoo has increased in recent times.

The central zoo has determined Rs 750 for foreigners, Rs 500 for guests of SAARC countries, Rs 150 for Nepali citizen and Rs 90 for students and senior citizens as entrance fees.

According to zoo authorities, around 1.1 million people visit the zoo every year. The annual transaction is worth Rs 150 million.
