Japan pledges Rs 12.1 mln for Nona Koirala Memorial building



KATHMANDU: Nepal and Japan have signed an agreement to construct a building for Nona Koirala Memorial Academy in Biratnagar on Wednesday.

The agreement letter was signed by Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Saigo Masamichi and Chairman of Academy Dr Narayan Kumar.

Speaking at the program, Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala, who is also the patron of the Academy, lauded the Japan government for its contribution to the development of democracy in Nepal.

Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Province 1 Kedar Karki, Mayaor of Biratnagar Metropolis Bhim Parajuli, among others were present in the program.

Japan in the agreement letter has pledged Rs 12.1 million for the building construction.
