Kathmandu Valley sees 1,007 new COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: As many as 1,007 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 779 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 85 in Bhaktapur, and 143 in Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,980 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 222,288 with fresh cases as of Monday afternoon.

A total of 3,043 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 202,067 in the country.

Nepal currently has 18,884 active cases.

Likewise, 629 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as 16 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,337, the Ministry confirmed.
