Woman swept away by stream in Kaski



KASKI: A woman from Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-9 in the district died after she was swept away by the Sasyung stream on Sunday morning.

The victim was 24-year-old Dipa Gautam. She had gone to the stream for a holy dip as part of the celebration of Rishipanchami festival. She was found dead after four hours, according to Ward chair Durga Bahadur Chhetri.

The locals searched her after they learned that Gautam was swept away by the flooded stream. She was found 700 meters down the place from where she went missing.

Police persons were mobilized immediately after learning about the incident, the District Police, Kaski said.

Gautam was the mother of a two-and-half-year old girl. RSS
