KATHMANDU: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has drawn the attention of the government on the issues of coronavirus infection and floods and landslides.

A statement issued by the party’s Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel stated that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba met Prime Minister KP Oli on Thursday and drew his attention.

The statement said that Deuba drew the attention of the prime minister to formulate a new and special strategy to face the challenge after the lockdown has been lifted.

Deuba has also urged PM Oli to expedite the rescue work of Nepalis stranded abroad and also discussed with the Prime Minister about the damage caused by the floods and landslides.

“As floods and landslides have killed, many are missing and have left hundreds homeless in various parts of the country, the President has urged the government to work at war footing for rescue, relief and rehabilitation,” Poudel said in the statement.
