Death toll in Palpa landslide reaches four



BUTWAL: The death toll in a landslide in Palpa on Monday has reached four after a dead body was found on Tuesday afternoon while clearing the mudslide.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dilli Narayan Pandey, Information Officer at the Province-5 Traffic Police Office, Butwal, said that a dead body was found this afternoon.

The body of a 20-year-old man was found buried in the landslide, but the identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet, Pandey said.

Four vehicles have been swept away by the landslide triggered by incessant rainfall at Bandipokhara Sammobari under the Tansen-Ridi section on Monday.

The deceased are Bir Bahadur Gurung of Chitwan, Nimesh Shrestha of Hokse-4, Kavre, and Bhuwan Khamcha of Palpa.
