COVID-19: Nepal set to bring medical gears within three days



KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has initiated efforts to import necessary medical kits from India and China to tackle possible infection of the novel coronavirus in the country.

The government has already corresponded with India and China through their respective embassies in Kathmandu to import the kits within three days through chartered planes from the neighboring countries.

Sources said the government is waiting for the response from both the countries adding that it will bring the gears from the country, whichever will respond first.

The government has given a list of 19 different health gears to China to tackle the COVID-19 infection.

According to the Ministry of Health, the government has sought five mobile ambulances, 100 portable ventilators, 100 oxygen plants, 150,000 N95 masks, 200 thousand surgical masks, among others from China.

Likewise, the government of Nepal has asked India to provide 150,000 N95 masks, 10 thousand Infrared thermometers, five oxygen plants, and 200,000 surgical masks, among others.
