Three Nepalis test positive for coronavirus in Bahrain

KATHMANDU: Three Nepali migrant workers in Bahrain have tested positive for coronavirus.

Nepal’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Padam Sundas, the three Nepalis staying in the country have currently been quarantined in Bahrain.

The Middle East country has so far 310 confirmed cases.

Meanwhile, Nepalis in the Middle East countries have been facing a problem at the moment due to coronavirus fear.

The Qatar government had on last Friday deported 150 Nepalis, who were arrested from Qatar’s industrial sector of Sanaya on Thursday after allegedly disobeying the government’s order.

The arrested Nepalis were sent back to Nepal via a flight no. 644 of Qatar Airways.

The Qatar government is also likely to deport more Nepalis soon, sources have said.

The Qatar government had earlier instructed the migrant workers of Sanaya to not go outside the designated area and abstain from the crowd.

The workers, who were arrested while shopping or playing volleyball, however, said they were not notified about the restriction.
