Baskota’s audio scandal will be investigated: Gurung



KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of Parliamentary Party of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Dev Prasad Gurung has said that an audio scandal involving ex-Minister Gokul Baskota will be investigated seriously.

Speaking at an interaction organized on Saturday, Gurung remarked the scandal at a sad turn of events.

“The government will investigate the issue seriously to find out if any embezzlement has been made or not. I think legal action will be taken on culprits,” Gurung said.

An audio of ex-Minister for Communications Baskota bargaining for Rs 700 million in bribe over the procurement of security printing press for the government has created a buzz in political fronts.

Minister Baskota has resigned following the scandal.
