When flowers worth millions went missing overnight …

KATHMANDU: The flowers used for decorating Pashupatinath Temple on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri have gone missing.

The officials of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) are worried after the flowers went missing overnight.

Around Rs 20 million had been spent on decorating the temple with the flowers, according to Pradip Dhakal, member secretary of the PADT.

Dhakal said, “The flowers within the reach of monkey are safe but those out of reach are missing. Devotees who come to the temple for blessings return home with the flowers. This is not a good culture of devotees.”

The flowers had been imported from various countries including Thailand, Australia, India.

Member Secretary Dhakal admitted failure to control the robbery of the flowers from Pashupatinath Temple.
