Nepal Republic Party condemns statement by Chinese Embassy



KATHMANDU: Nepal Republic Party has said that the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu breached diplomatic decorum while issuing a statement over an article published in a newspaper.

Issuing a statement, party’s Chairman Siddhartha Gautam condemned the statement while terming it as irresponsible.

“How did the Chinese Ambassador dare to threaten Nepali self-esteem?” Gautam questioned.

He demanded the Foreign Ministry summons the Ambassador and suggests following diplomatic decorum.

The media fraternity and social media users have come down heavily on the statement issued by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu over the coronavirus-related article published by The Kathmandu Post.
