KATHMANDU: A day after Minister Gokul Baskota tendered his resignation on corruption allegation, Nepal Communist Party Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal raised serious disappointment saying that the communists were declining because of themselves.

Speaking at a program in Bhaktapur on Friday, NCP Chair Dahal remarked that the communists of the world have collapsed due to their own faults and similar symptoms are getting common in Nepal lately.

“Once the communists grab the post, they start deviating from their ideals,” he said. “This was the main cause of the fall of communism in the world.”

“These days wherever I see I find the people forgetting their ideals,” he spoke sarcastically about the corruption allegation against the government’s key person Gokul Baskota.

“When the communist party leaders discard their ideals, no capitalists or their guns are needed to finish them,” Prachanda said, “The communists finish themselves.” However, he clarified that he didn’t mean to say the communism in Nepal would be pushed back by such incidence.

He shared that he was planning to talk to Prime Minister K P Oli in this regard.

While PM Oli has been defending the government saying it’s successful everywhere, another chairperson of the party has been expressing his dissatisfaction with the poor performance of the government.
