NRB directs all remittance companies in the valley to continue services



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the monetary, regulatory and supervisory authority of banks and financial institutions in the country has directed all remittance companies in Kathmandu valley to continue operations during the prohibitory order period in the valley.

Issuing a notice on Friday, NRB has urged all the remittance companies in the valley to ensure continuation of service abiding the coronavirus prevention and control standard set by the government.

The central bank has asked the remittance service providers to continue operation in coordination with the local administration so that remittance service continues without disturbance.

The NRB directed remittance service-providing companies to make arrangements to ensure hassle-free services so that the remittance send by the Nepali citizens in abroad employment can be withdrawn easily in the situation of lockdown.

The central bank has also directed the remittance service providing companies to open their counter for paying the money remitted by Nepalis on foreign employment to their families.
