Two COVID-19 patients die at APF Hospital

KATHMANDU: Two COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at the Armed Police Force (APF) Hospital in Balambu, Kathmandu have died.

Superintendent of Police Dr. Praveen Nepal said that the deceased have been identified as a man from Baluwatar, Kathmandu and another man from Rajbiraj.

According to Dr. Nepal, a 76-year-old man from Baluwatar died within an hour of being brought to the hospital on Thursday evening.

The man was diagnosed coronavirus positive six days ago and was in home isolation, said Dr. Nepal, adding that the man was rushed to the hospital only after his health condition worsened.

According to Dr. Nepal, the other deceased was a 77-year-old man from Rajbiraj.

The man had arrived in Kathmandu and had undergone the COVID-19 test at Bir Hospital. After his health deteriorated, the man was initially rushed to Grande Hospital. He was then referred to Green City Hospital.

According to Dr. Nepal, the man was referred to the Armed Police Hospital on Thursday evening as his health condition worsened.

He was put on ventilator life support and breathed his last this morning.

According to Dr. Nepal, 140 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and two of them are on a ventilator and 12 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
