Chairman Dahal was not duped on Saturday: NCP Spokesperson Shrestha

KATHMANDU: In contrary to Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s claim of being hoodwinked, party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha today dismissed any ‘trick’ to drag Dahal to Shital Niwas, the Office of the President on Saturday.

Speaking to journalists after the Standing Committee meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar on Tuesday, Shrestha said Chairman Dahal wasn’t duped that day. “He (Dahal) went to the President’s Office on his own,” he claimed.

It should be recalled that Chairman Dahal went to Shital Niwas on Saturday as soon as the meeting of the party’s Secretariat ended.

Prime Minister KP Oli had already reached the President’s Office to meet President Bidhya Devi Bhandari the same day.

However, Dahal later claimed how he was tricked to go to Shital Niwas.

Meanwhile, today’s meeting of the party’s Standing Committee has been postponed until next Tuesday.
