KATHMANDU: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota today claimed he resigned from his post on moral grounds.

Minister Baskota took to Twitter today to say that he stepped down by tendering his resignation to Prime Minister KP Oli on moral grounds as he was dragged into the controversy.

He had stepped down following a leaked audio recording of a conversation between him and a Swiss Company local agent Bijaya Prakash Mishra in which Baskota is heard of bargaining for Rs 700 million in bribe over procurement of security printing press for the government.
