“Tourism Angel” robots to inform, entertain passengers at TIA



KATHMANDU: The government has kept two robots at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu in a bid to inform and entertain passengers.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai on Thursday launched the service amid a program at the TIA today.

The two robots named “Paryatan Pari” (Tourism Angel) greet passengers in front of them.

People can even select a language — Nepali, English, and Chinese — on the screen of the two robots for the information.

According to Minister Bhattarai, the two robots will also entertain the passengers at the TIA.

The robots, which have been kept at the arrival and departure terminals, costs Rs 2 million each.
