KATHMANDU: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota, who has been dragged into controversy following the leakage of his audio clip, will have to answer regarding the clip in many places.

An audio clip of Minister Gokul Baskota bargaining for Rs 700 million in bribe over the procurement of security printing press for the government has been leaked online.

Public Account Committee (PAC) of parliament is also holding a meeting on this issue today.

The Committee has summoned the secretary of the Minister for Communication and Information Technology to discuss this issue.

His response is awaited at a time when the minister himself has been dragged into controversy.

Minister Baskota, as the spokesperson of the government, is also scheduled to hold a regular press meet to make cabinet decisions public today. How will he present himself in the press meet? It is yet to be seen.

Likewise, Baskota will also answer the questions raised surrounding the Ministry for Communication and Information Technology in parliament.

Meanwhile, a discussion on the case lodged against the security press procurement scam is underway in the Committee, according to Pradip Kumar Yadav, a member of the Public Account Committee.

Local agent of Swiss Company Bijaya Prakash Mishara is also taking part in the meeting, according to Yadav.
