Taiwan president labels China a “threat” to whole region

TAIPEI: President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen said that the last two days of Chinese aircraft approaching Taiwan show that Beijing is a threat to the region.

Several Chinese aircraft flew across the mid line of the Taiwan Strait on Friday and Saturday, causing the island country to scramble jets to intercept.

China has, meanwhile, announced combat drills near the Taiwan Strait. It has also denounced what it termed “collusion” between the Taiwan and the United States.

The military exercises took place as U.S. Undersecretary for Economic Affairs Keith Krach was in Taipei.

Tsai, meanwhile, denounced China’s drills sayin that such activities are no help to China’s international image.
