Rural municipality to honour ‘Smart Couple’



PALPA: The Rambha rural municipality is to honor the couples in the rural municipality adopting family planning after giving birth to one or two children.

The ‘smart couple’ giving birth to maximum two children would be awarded with Rs 5,000.

Chairperson of the rural municipality, Bishnu Bhandari, said that they have made arrangement of honoring the smart couple with cash with an objective of encouraging people towards adoption of family planning as well as to reduce birth rate.

The rural municipality brought the program into operation in its policy, program and budget of current fiscal year 2020/21.

Bhandari added that the rural municipality has a program to honor at least five such smart couples, who have undergone permanent family planning after giving birth to one or two children, on the basis of medical certificate. The rural municipality has allocated Rs 50,000 to implement the program.

Similarly, son and daughter-in-law paying attention in care, nutritious food and health of their parents and in-laws would also be honored. The municipality would honor 10 couples of son and daughter-in-law with Rs 5,000 of every ward.

Likewise, Rs 1,000 would be provided for nutritious food to mother and baby for the sustainability of child delivery at health institution program, it is learned.
