Govt to provide jobs to people deprived of foreign employment

KATHMANDU: The government on Thursday pledged to provide jobs to people deprived of foreign employment due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing the government’s weekly press conference at Singha Durbar today, Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada informed journalists that the government has decided to provide jobs to those youths under the Prime Minister Employment Program.

Minister Khatiwada said that the government will provide employment to those who wish to work. “However, they need to register their names,” he added.

According to him, the government can only provide minor jobs, not table work.
