Bus-hit sends parked car plunging into Sunkoshi River



KATHMANDU: A car has gone missing after falling into the Sunkoshi River near Nawalpurghat along the Mid-hill Highway in Phikkal rural municipality- 2 in Sindhuli.

The car (Pradesh 3 01-24 Cha 9573) fell into the river after being hit by a passenger bus with registration number Ba 08-001 Kha 0144 while it was parked on the roadside. Following collision at 11:30 am today, the car plunged about 50 meters down the road.

Locals Dil Bahadur Tamang and Ganesh Thapa were in the car, Golonjar-2 Ward Chair Som Prasad Baral reported to the RSS from the accident site.

The third person is also believed to have been inside the car. Rescue efforts are underway with the participation of the locals, Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police.
