Jwarchan sworn in as HoR member

KATHMANDU: Suvarna Jwarchan of Nepali Congress (NC) has been sworn in as House of Representatives (HoR) member today.

Speaker Agni Sapkota administered oath of office and secrecy to her this afternoon.

Jwarchan was sworn-in in the place of Gyan Kumari Chhantyal of Baglung, who passed away on July 1.

Jwarchan’s name was just below Chhantyal’s name among women (Janajati) in the closed list for the Proportional Representation of the party.

Jwarchan has remained active in Nepali Congress for quite a long time.

She has also served as minister of state for urban development in the then Pushpa Kamal Dahal led coalition government in 2016.
