Over 81 dead, 54 lakh affected in Assam flood



GUWAHATI: As many as 81 people have been killed in floods in the Indian state of Assam.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has, meanwhile, assured support to Assam to deal with the flood havoc, which has so far claimed 81 lives and affected over 54 lakh in the state’s 30 districts.

PM Modi spoke with Assam’s Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and expressed solidarity with the people of the state.

Modi inquired about the coronavirus scenario with Sonowal.
