Leader Poudel urges mountaineers to popularize Nepal in int’l arena



KATHMANDU: Senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Poudel has urged the mountaineers to popularize Nepal’s identity in the international arena via mountain tourism.

While welcoming new entrants to the party here today, senior leader Poudel also urged the youths to make the mountain tourism a hub for adventurous sports.

On the occasion, he argued that the mountaineering was an adventurous job and good source of bringing foreign currency therefore the profession should maintain quality.

NC leaders Navindra Raj Joshi, Uday Shamsher Rana and Yankila Sherpa opined to develop the mountain tourism as one of the attractive sectors in the country.

A total 31 mountaineers who have scaled various peaks including Mt Everest have joined the NC amid a function here today.

The new entrants are record keeper mountaineers Dawa Thinju Sherpa, Nima Shree Sherpa, and Lakwa Patenjing Sherpa among others joined NC.
