KATHMANDU: Nepal Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has closed down its services except for essential ones indefinitely.
Issuing a notice on Sunday, the Embassy said the services will remain closed staring Tuesday until further notice.
The Embassy has closed down the services including attestation of demand letter after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 a pandemic and the new virus started taking toll on the UAE.
However, the essential services including travel document, issuing (No Objection Certificate) NCO to send dead bodies to Nepal, renewing expired passports will continue, said Deputy Chief of Mission and Spokesperson at the Embassy Rita Dhital.
According to the record maintained by the Embassy, 275,000 Nepali migrants workers are working in the UAE, currently.
