KATHMANDU: Police have arrested an Indian national with gold worth over Rs 2.2 million.

A joint squad from Metropolitan Police Sector, Nagdhunga and Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot arrested Ashutosh Senapati, 45, of Paschim Mendipur District of Indian State of West Bengal during a security check at Nagdhnga on Monday evening.

Police seized 398 grams of gold without bill concealed inside a TATA Sumo, Na 1 Ja 5060, during a frisking, DSP Ghanashyam Shrestha of Metropolitan Police Circle, Nagdhunga told Khabarhub.

Police said the arrested person and the gold seized have been sent to the Department of Revenue Investigation at Hariharbhawan, Lalitpur.
