KATHMANDU: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the House of Representatives has summoned Minister for Health, Population and Environment Bhanubhakta Dhakal for a discussion.

A meeting of the committee held on Thursday called Minister Dhakal for a discussion at 1 pm on Friday, said committee Chairman Bharat Sha.

The committee is investigating irregularities in the procurement of health supplies and summoned Minister Dhakal for a discussion on the issue.

Despite the decision to summon the Minister four months ago, Minister Dhakal had not agreed to attend the meeting. Chairman Sha said that the time was fixed after consulting the minister.

The House Panel has started an investigation into the irregularities in the procurement of health supplies from China for the treatment of those infected with the coronavirus. The government had assigned Omni Business Group of Companies to procure health supplies.
