Gandaki Province assembly meeting obstructed



POKHARA: The Gandaki Province Assembly meeting was obstructed by the major opposition Nepali Congress today.

The NC complained that the party was compelled to obstruct the meeting as the government remained reluctant to contain coronavirus pandemic despite several appeals from the party.

NC has also opined not to make discrimination between directly elected lawmakers and representing from the proportional system while allocating the budget under the Election Constituency Infrastructure Development Programme.

Earlier, NC had obstructed the House on Sunday as well by putting forth the same agenda. Speaker Netranath Adhikari announced the postponement of the meeting until August 25 soon after the NC lawmakers stood up from their seats in protest.
