‘Hottest temperature on Earth’ as Death Valley



WASHINGTON: The highest temperature ever recorded on Earth is 130F (54.4C) in Death Valley National Park in California, BBC has said.

The US National Weather Service is verifying the recording.

The recording comes amid a heat wave on the US’s west coast.

According to the report, the scorching conditions have seen two days of blackouts in California.

What were the previous records?

The reading the “highest” record was made in Furnace Creek in the Death Valley.

Earlier, the hottest temperature recorded on Earth was 129.2F (54C) – in Death Valley in 2013.
