Messi angry as Barcelona loses La Liga title race

BARCELONA: Lionel Messi expressed anger to the Spanish giants after being dethroned as La Liga champions by Real Madrid.

Barcelona’s aspirations to win the La Liga for the third successive time shattered as Real Madrid beat Villareal 2-1 to clinch their record-extending 37th Spanish league title, international media reported.

Messi blasted Barcelona labelling them as ‘weak’, and lacked desire.

Barcelona also suffered a defeat at home to Osasuna on Thursday soon after Real Madrid were crowned Spain’s champions.

Real Madrid, garnering 86 points — 7 more than 2nd-placed Barcelona, clinched their first league title in 3 years.
