No further comments on PM Oli’s Ayodhya statement: India’s Foreign Ministry



KATHMANDU:  The Ministry of External Affairs of India ruled out further comments on Prime Minister KP Oli’s statement on Ayodhya saying that the Nepal’s Foreign Ministry has already clarified it.

Responding to the question raised by journalists during a press briefing on Thursday, Anurag Srivastava, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs of India declined to make further comments on Prime Minister Oli’s statement on Ayodhya.

“The entire world is well informed about the immensely rich culture of India. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal has given clarification about it,” said Srivastava, adding, “It is not necessary to make further comments on it.”

Prime Minister KP Oli on July 13 had claimed that Ayodhya is in Nepal Rama is Nepali on the occasion of Bhanu Jayanti.

Oli was criticized for his controversial statement not only in India but also in Nepal.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following criticisms from all quarters, gave a clarification saying that this statement is not a political stunt nor does it intend to target anyone or any nations.
