8 more succumb to COVID-19 in Nepal; death toll reaches 379



KATHMANDU: As many as 8 persons have lost the battle against COVID-19 in Nepal in the last 24 hours.

According the Ministry of Health and Population, a 70-year-old male and a 35-year-old male in Sunsari, a 46-year-old female in Bara, a 55-year-old female, and a 41-year-old male in Kavrepalanchowk, a 71-year-old and 74-year-old female in Kathmandu and a 70-year-old male in Kaski have died from pandemic virus.

Nepal’s death toll stands at 0.65 percent.

Meanwhile, Nepal has recorded a total of 1,539 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the recent data, the total number of cases reached 58,327 in the country as of Wednesday afternoon.

Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that Nepal currently has 16,242 active cases.

Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 7,701 people are in home isolation and 8,541 in institutional isolation facilities.

Likewise, 7,820 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.
