3 including NA Brigadier General dismissed in financial irregularities allegation



KATHMANDU: Finding three officials, including a Brigadier General guilty in financial irregularities and behavior related case, the summary general military court of Nepal Army has directed to dismiss them from their posts.

According to a press release issued by Nepal Army on Sunday, a bench of General Military Court has dismissed Brigadier General Prayog Jung Bahadur Rana, Colonel Nabin Silwal and Subedar Major Mithu Ram Bishwokarma from NA service declaring them ineligible for future service in Army.

In addition, the court has also decided to fine Brigadier General Rana Rs 17.2 million for the irregularities.

The press release also states that Captain Laxmi Kant Khanal, Warrant Officer (First Class) Bhoj Bahadur Bista and Warrant Officer (Second Class) Binod Basnet shall face one level decrease from the post.

Similarly Captain (Technical) Firoj Maharjan and Warrant Officer (Second Class) Bhadra Bahadur Shahi shall face punishment as well.

However, the court has offered clean chit to Colonel Rajendra Mani Giri and Account Subedar (Rtd.) Naba Raj Pandey formerly sued in the similar allegation.

In its press release, NA has reiterated its commitment to zero tolerance to corruption and irregularities and has also expressed its commitment to ensure transparency in the organization.
