Lt. General Tandul of NA makes public his property details

KATHMANDU: As an attempt of ensuring transparency and sanctioning corruption, Nepal Army officials have started making their property details public. Furthering the trend Lt. General Gaurav Tandul has also made his personal property public on Wednesday.

He is one of the two lieutenant generals of Nepal Army. Prior to this Chief of Army Staff had made his property details public in September.

According to the details made public, the Lt. General has a two and half storied building at 20 anna 1 paisa land in the name of his spouse Muna Devi Uprety Tandul at Dhapasi, Kathmandu. Similarly, he owns a one storied house built on 10 dhur at Bharatpur Chitwan whereas his wife has the ownership of 5 bigha land in Jhapa.

In other details about the land, he has 63.58 sq meter land in Ward No. 31 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and 9 anna 3 paisa at Pokhara.

Lt. General Tandul has 35 tola gold, 9 KG Silver and some diamond, rubi and blue sapphire gemstone (neelam) the details reveal.

He has 7.73 million cash deposit in various commercial bank and owes 350 thousand rupees loan taken from the Army Welfare Fund. He has stated that he has paid back 138 thousand loan amount. He has a Honda Shine motorbike.

He has stated that his property includes the one he inherited from his parents, his wife’s property she received from her parents, and his earnings.
