PM Oli directs new ministers to ensure result-oriented performance



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli on Thursday directed the newly-appointed ministers to ensure result-oriented performance.

In a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday after the newly-appointed ministers took an oath of office and secrecy and assumed their offices, Prime Minister Oli directed them to work in a way to set an example.

In today’s meeting, the Prime Minister had instructed all the ministers to work effectively, said a Cabinet minister.

Briefing about the recent political disputes within the party, Prime Minister Oli had clarified that the Council of Ministers was free from such disputes.

PM Oli on Wednesday had reshuffled the Cabinet inducting three new faces.

PM Oli had inducted Bishnu Poudel as Minister of Finance, Krishna Gopal Shrestha as Minister of Urban Development, and Leela Nath Shrestha as Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens.

Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Parbat Gurung was given the responsibility as the Minister of Information, Communications and Technology.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel, who was the Minister of Defense, was given the responsibility to oversee the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

PM Oli’s decision of cabinet reshuffle has irked Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, party insiders have said.
