Cases filed against two Nepalis in Japan for submitting fake documents withdrawn

TOKYO: Japan is set to withdraw a lawsuit against two Nepali nationals accused of misappropriating loans meant for those affected by the coronavirus crisis.

Two Nepalis were accused of receiving relief to the affected businessmen and their families by submitting fake documents.

They were accused of providing false details for receiving concessional loans provided by the Japanese government to people struggling to make ends meet after the coronavirus crisis.

The Tokyo-based prosecutor’s office has decided not to take ahead the case, but it didn’t mention the reason, TBS Television reported.

They were arrested on charges of submitting fake documents to obtain a loan of 400,000 yen, the charge they have been denying.
