Two dead in Bhaktapur road mishaps



BHAKTAPUR: Two persons died in two separate road accidents that occurred at Bode and Kamalbinayak in Bhaktapur.

According to police, motorcyclist Ranjit Mahaju, 17, died after the motorcycle (Ba 95 Pa 1455) he was riding fell off the drain after losing control. Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Giri said that seriously injured Mahaju of Kamlabinyak in the district breathed his last at Trauma Centre last night.

Similarly, pillion rider Laxmi Karki, 45, of Kageshwori Mahanara in Kathmandu district died after a truck carrying drinking water supplies hit a scooter (Ba 5 Kha 4311) at Bode in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-9.

Karki, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, was referred to Annapurna Neuro Hospital after primary treatment at Nepal-Korea Friendship Hospital.

DSP Giri said that truck driver Raj Kumar Khatri, 41, of Manthali-3 in Ramechhap was nabbed for necessary action.
