Youth jumps off the cliff while being taken to quarantine



PARVAT: A youth being taken to Baglung quarantine attempted suicide jumping off the bus at a cliff near Kusma-8 Chuwa on Monday.

According to Parbat District Police Office, Chandra Bahadur Nepali, 39, of Baglung Municipality attempted suicide jumping off the cliff while being taken to Baglung from the Sunauli border.

DSP Bishwo Raj Adhikari of Parbat Police informed that the injured Nepali is referred to Pokhara for treatment.

The bus — Lu 2 Kha 4220 — had been carrying locals of Parbat, Baglung and Myagdi from Sunauli to the district-based quarantine centers.

The driver had stopped the bus at Chuwa and was refusing to take the bus ahead citing poor road condition when the person depressed at the idea that he had to pass difficult time in quarantine jumped off the cliff attempting to take his own life.

The police is further investigating the incident for details.
